Information
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information the editorial office of Delta Volume Docs handles, why it is handled, and what rights a reader holds over it.
Who is responsible
The reference is published by Delta Volume Docs — Editorial Office, 2200 Campus Drive, Suite 310, Evanston, IL 60201, United States. The office is the sole party responsible for the material on this site and for any personal information that reaches it through the contact form or by post.
What is collected
Very little is collected. If a reader sends a note through the contact form, the note carries the name, the electronic mail address, the optional organization and the text of the message, together with the subject chosen from the list. If a reader writes by post, the envelope carries whatever the reader has written upon it. No other personal information is gathered.
The site does not ask for an account, a password or any identifying number. It keeps no record of who has read which page, and it builds no profile of a reader. The pages are served as plain documents, and reading them leaves nothing behind beyond the ordinary passage of a request and a reply.
Why it is held
A note is held only so that it may be read and answered. A correction is held until it has been folded into the page it concerns. Nothing is held for any other purpose, and nothing is held for longer than replying requires.
Necessary storage
The site uses a small amount of necessary storage in the reader's own browser, described more fully in the Cookie Policy. That storage keeps nothing about a person and exists only to let the pages behave as expected between visits. No such storage is put to any other use.
Disclosure
Personal information is never disclosed to any outside party. It is not published, not put to any promotional use, and not handed on for any purpose at all. Where a note names a person other than the sender, that name is treated with the same care as the sender's own.
Rights
A reader may ask to see the note held on their behalf, may ask for a correction to it, and may ask for it to be erased. To make such a request, write to the address above or through the contact page. A reply follows within a reasonable period, and no charge is made for the request.
Children
The reference is written for mature students and readers of the subject. It is not directed at children, and no personal information is knowingly held about a child. Where such information is discovered, it is erased.
Changes
If this policy is revised, the new text takes the place of the old on this page, and the change is recorded at the foot of the page. Continued use of the site after a revision is read as acceptance of the revised policy. Questions about this policy may be sent to the editorial office at any time.
Contact about privacy
A reader who wishes to ask about this policy, or to make a request under it, may write to the editorial office through the contact page or by post to the address at the foot of every page. Include enough detail to identify the note concerned, and state plainly what is wanted. A reply follows in the order notes arrive, and no charge is made for the request or for the reply.
